DESCRIPTION:Temple Beth AbrahamÕs Adult Education committee presents Adam Zucker\, Art Historian\, discussing the Kabbalistic and Talmudic themes in paintings by the influential artist\, Jay MilderInfluential American artist\, Jay Milder traces his lineage to two notable rabbis of Hasidic Judaism: the Baal Shem Tov and Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.  The mystical and moral teachings of each Jewish leader is reflected in the visual symbolism within MilderÕs figurative\, expressionist paintings. Two of MilderÕs significant bodies of work are his “Messiah on the IND and Other Biblical Tales” and the more recent ÒNoahÕs ArkÓ series. Paintings from each of these series will be presented within the context of MilderÕs unique interpretations of Jewish mysticism and theology.
