DESCRIPTION:The TBA Sukkah will be up and available for anyone to come\, shake the lulav\, and perform the mitzvah of eating in the sukkah\, from Saturday\, October 3 – Sunday October 11.  We’ll provide the lulav and etrog; you provide whatever it is you’re going to eat.\n\nWe’ll be observing all of the appropriate health protocols: masks required\, gloves and wipes will be available\, and please write your name and contact info on the sheet which will be at the sukkah.\n\nPlease be aware that the building itself remains closed.

DESCRIPTION:Understanding “The Image of God”: A Candid Webinar Series on Human Dignity and Racial Justice Based in the Jewish Tradition with Rabbi Avi Killip and Eric Ward. \nWebinars 2 and 3: Three Talmudic Paradigms for Understanding Racism in the United States with Rabbi Avi Killip \nThis two-part shiur (study session) will invite participants to explore what ancient Jewish texts teach us about racism in America today. We will explore three Talmudic frameworks for understanding the role of racism in our country. Through concepts developed by our ancient rabbis\, we will explore our own role and responsibility in racism today\, seek tools to resist the racism that is pervasive in our culture\, and ask if we have any responsibility and ability to correct for a troubled national history. All are invited to workshop these paradigms and think through how they might be useful to our current national moment\, and where their application is limited or maybe even damaging. \nThis is the part 2 and 3 of a series of 3 lectures on Judaism and Racial Justice.
