The *NEW* Rivertowns Moving Traditions group for 8th and 9th graders from Temple Beth Abraham, the Shames JCC, and Greenburgh Hebrew Center is starting its inaugural year! Teens will meet monthly on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:45pm at the Shames JCC on the Hudson. It’s not easy being a teenager. Even outside of school, the pressure is on, and issues like self-esteem, body image, competition, and relationships add to the noise. This is why real friendships and trusted mentors are important, and the values and support of Jewish community can be a positive guiding force. And this is why Moving Traditions created Rosh Hodesh and Shevet. Once a month, in small peer groups with trained adult mentors, teens bond and have open conversations in a safe space. Rosh Hodesh and Shevet both have a positive and lasting impact on teens, empowering them to become strong, confident, and happy young adults. The cost for participation in this program is $180.00/per 8th or 9th grader (not including credit card fee).Meeting dates at the Shames JCC on the Hudson are as follows: Wednesday, September 18 from 6:30-7:45pm - A Taste of Moving Traditions Wednesday, October 16 from 6:30-7:45pm Wednesday, November 20 from 6:30-7:45pm Wednesday, December 18 from 6:30-7:45pm Wednesday, January 22 from 6:30-7:45pm Wednesday, February 12 from 6:30-7:45pm Wednesday, March 18 from 6:30-7:45pm Wednesday, April 22 from 6:30-7:45pm Wednesday, May 20 from 6:30-7:45pm A few items to highlight: •Although registration is through Temple Beth Abraham, all Moving Traditions meetings will take place at the Shames JCC on the Hudson. •All registrations must be completed online. •All registrations must be completed with a credit card payment and will incur a 3% fee. •Tuition is non-refundable. •Temple Beth Abraham will be transferring the cost of the program per student directly to Shames JCC on the Hudson. •The Rivertowns Moving Traditions groups will meet will meet monthly, on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:45pm, at the Shames JCC on the Hudson.
