Movie Mavens: Shorts (Zoom)

Please join Movie Mavens to watch a movie with Jewish themes. At the conclusion of the film, we will have a moderated discussion. It’s all online, so feel free to bring your own popcorn and snacks and watch in your pajamas!

This month’s movie: A series of short films:

Shorts:

• Egg Cream: a film about memory, history, and the enduring meaning of a beloved chocolate soda drink born in Jewish immigrant neighborhoods at the turn of the 20th century.
• Joe’s Violin:  a 91-year-old Holocaust survivor donates his violin to an instrument drive, changing the life of a 12-year-old schoolgirl from the Bronx and unexpectedly, his own.
• 100 Faces: A true celebration of the diversity of Jewish people. Featuring 100 British-Jewish people, one born in every  year between 1917 and 2018.
