Rabbi Symons of Temple David in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, presents alternative readings of haftarah, enhanced by commentaries from a diverse group of rabbis, cantors, scholars, educators, activists, and poets; inviting us to rethink the relevance of these ancient texts to our present lives and examine the role of prophecy in Reform Judaism. New haftarot for each Shabbat and holiday, from Yom HaShoah to Pride Month and Martin Luther King Day, are included.
