Jewish & Christian Interpretations of the Messiah (Zoom)

May 31, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Jews have been waiting for the arrival of the Messiah for thousands of years. Christians proclaim that he arrived two thousand years ago, died, and will return, so they are waiting as well.  But there are substantial differences in how the two monotheistic traditions understand precisely who the Messiah is (or will be), and his mission. We shall discuss the Biblical origin of the concept in both religious traditions and attempt to understand the differences between them.

Michael’s “Reflections of an Honest Skeptic: An Unorthodox Approach to Genesis”   is available from Amazon (Make your purchase through Amazon Smile smile.amazon.com and choose Hebrew Congregation of North Tarrytown & Tarrytown, Temple Beth Abraham as your  favorite charity, and TBA will receive a donation at no extra cost to you!)
