Democratic institutions such as
the Supreme Court, are designed to ensure that the government runs efficiently; by serving as a protective mechanism against encroachment by the majority or most powerful. But what happens when the institution operates beyond its designed boundaries or goals? This presentation will focus on the attempts by the Israeli parliament to reform the highest court.

George K. Keteku PhD., professor at SUNY Westchester Community College, is a specialist in democratic reforms and Middle East and African Studies.
