A Reform and Conservative Synagogue Serving the Rivertowns
The “We’re Listening: Faith Communities Rally for Change” rally is on!
Join the Rivertowns clergy and your neighbors of all faiths for an event next Saturday, July 18, in front of Foster Memorial Church, on Wildey Street in Tarrytown. (The site was chosen because Foster Memorial was a stop on the Underground Railroad that helped escaped slaves on their journey to Canada.) The rally will begin promptly at 2:00 .p.m, and is planned to last just one hour. Masks are absolutely required to participate! Yes, the rally is taking place on Shabbat. As Abraham Joshua Heschel famously replied to his students who challenged his participation in a march with Martin Luther King Jr., “I felt like my feet were praying.”
Raindate – Sunday, July 19
