Pre- and Post- B-Mitzvah Learning (Grades 6–7):

6th Grade meets Sundays (9:00-11:00AM) and Wednesdays (6:30-7:30PM)
7th Grade meets Mondays (6:15-8:15PM) and Wednesdays (6:30-7:30PM)

Our midweek program supports students as they prepare for their B-Mitzvah and navigate their transition into Jewish adulthood.

What We Learn:

  • Hebrew Prayer (Tefilah): Mastering key prayers and understanding their meanings.
  • Trope (Cantillation) (Ta’amei HaMikra): Learning the musical patterns for Torah and Haftarah chanting.
  • Torah Interpretation (Parshanut): Developing Torah interpretation skills and crafting a D’var Torah (a short talk that interprets and explores the meaning of the weekly Torah portion).
  • Prayer Composition (Kevanah & Kavanah): Understanding and connecting with prayer on a deeper level.
  • SEL Learning: Social-emotional learning and identity-based exploration through the SEL frameworks, including family learning experiences on Sundays (for 6th Graders).
